Adventure and Anonymity Abound
My husband and I are new to Huntington and West Virginia. Working for cultural resource management firms, we have spent most of our relationship moving every six to eight months. So, why settle in Huntington? It’s the first place we’ve felt at home. The picturesque beauty of the old trees and brick streets when you come into the residential neighborhoods is breathtaking. The smiling faces that greeted us when we were house hunting warmed our hearts. And given our location, there’s always a chance for adventure or discovering new things to keep our interest. There are numerous parks integrated into the city, not to mention geo-caching, glass blowing, trails, art museums, a vaudeville theater and the resources of Marshall University all with in a few miles of our home! Huntington has the perfect blend of small town community with the anonymity of a metropolis. My friends from Baltimore and Atlanta can’t believe we’ve met and communicated with the Mayor, let a lone the fact we’re working towards a common goal for the city together. Huntington is home.
