Children’s Art Festival Extravaganza

The Huntington Regional Chamber of Commerce’s Downtown Live Committee will host its 3rd Annual Children’s Art Festival Extravaganza (CAFÉ)

When: Saturday, June 12 11 a.m. to 2 p.m.
Where: Ninth Street Plaza between Third & Fourth Avenues
The 3rd annual CAFÉ event will have activities for children 12 years old and younger. Some of the arts featured are the following: book making, stamp art, tie-dye art, sculptures, a children’s community mural and others.
The event is free for everyone.
Other activities will include performances by the Cabell County Public Library Puppets, Jeslyn Performing Arts Center …

Huntington Art Gawk

If you’ve walked downtown town at all over the past two weeks you may have noticed various works of art on display in many of the storefronts – particularly on 3rd and 4th ave and 9th street. All of this art has been setup as part of the ArtGawk – a great initiative to beautify our downtown and to showcase some of the great artists in the area. The work was coordinated by the same folks who put together gallery 842 – a free art gallery at 842 4th ave.

Cabell County Art and Music Project Hosting Exhibit at The Galleria, June 27th

On June 27th, the Cabell County Art and Music Project, a Create Huntington project team, is hosting a community exhibition of the arts to be held at The Galleria (the old Huntington Arcade) on 4th Avenue. This event will begin at 6 PM and last until 11PM. Ceal’s Sandwich Shop will be cooking up good food at a reasonable price for this event, thanks to its proprietor, Greg Carico. Wayne and Chris hope to work in conjunction with other art gallery projects coming out of Create Huntington.

The Drifters – Free Concert

The Drifters, songsmiths of such classics as “Under the Boardwalk” and “Save the Last Dance For Me” are in concert tonight, June 2, 2009, in front of the Keith-Albee theater starting at 6pm. They will be doing two sets during the night ending at 10pm. The concert is free so bring a chair and get comfortable along fourth ave and come join in the Celebrate Huntington Concert Series!

Math Machine Unveiled at Marshall University
