The contribute link at the top of the page explains all the ways people can contribute to the site. Writing articles is just one of the many ways you could get involved if you want; commenting is great too but in no way are you limited to having a passive experience here at WhyHuntington; if you want to contribute your own original content about Huntington or the Huntington Area we would love to have it published on the site.

After reading the contribute page if you have something else in mind feel free to contact me at why@whyhuntington.com with your idea and if I can find a way to support it on this site I will.

I read somewhere that you need writers for this website. Did you mean you simply want people to participate in the "blogging" by commenting and such or do you want people to submit writings? If so, what kind?

Well I won't tell them directly you said it but they might read the comments here :O)

I just started the site up as a volunteer thing. I have managed to get a bunch of great people involved so that content comes from many perspectives though I'm always looking for more people who would like to contribute however they can.

I am not a leader by any definition - I just go to the Chat-n-Chew's and try to get involved or at least share my thoughts on the different projects. About 50 people, on average, show up for the meeting and so many great ideas are discussed; its full of wonderful positive energy; well worth the effort even if I could only make it out once a month.

Your Welcome. I couldn't tell that you had to cough at all. I would be horrible in front of a microphone - I would just freeze up or try to sound overly professional and dignified to the point of sounding stupid. :) I will try to make it to the Chat-n-Chew. Sounds Fun.

I really mean it about what a good job those WMUL students did too. I wouldn't mind listening to their news show more often. I had several friends that were heavily involved with WMUL back in 2001-2004, and they never sounded as good at these guys. (Don't tell them I said that though) ;)

So, did you start this site just as a volunteer or community minded person with a neat idea or are you hired to run this effort? And are you directly linked with leading the Create Huntington effort too?

Thanks Joshua, It was really fun to do; I'd never been involved in any kind of talk show before. The guys there were very friendly and really put me at ease.

I had to cough the entire time I was talking but I didn't feel very comfortable making that kind of noise with the mic in my face.

Even if you can't find time to get very involved in things you should try to hit up a chat-n-chew once in a while on Thursdays at 5:30 at the Frederick Building on 4th ave. Just sharing your thoughts and ideas would be very helpful.
