WhyHuntington is a project designed to highlight all that is great about the Huntington Metro Area and I know there is far more to the area than I am aware of. This site isn’t about what I like about Huntington but about what everyone does. Therefore I really need other people to contribute.

You may be wondering how you can contribute or what you can do; well the following is a list of things this site is ready to feature and if you can provide any of it then I’d love to have it.

• Personal Story : A short story or essay explaining why you live here or why you moved here. It doesn’t have to be too personal but should address specifics about what you really like about the Huntington Metro Area and why those aspects, or features, keep you living here.
• Photo Essay : This can be any sort of photographic contribution really from a single shot to a series that helps capture something unique or cool about the Huntington Metro Area . This could be of people, places, or specific features.
• Original Art: Probably a photograph of something else you have done that features Huntington. Perhaps you made a collage, a sculpture, or a mobile themed around the Huntington Metro Area ; perhaps you’d like to share it.
• Video/Movie : A short movie that we can put on our youtube channel and that we can feature on the site. Again this can really be anything so long as it has some focus on the Huntington Metro Area.
• Poetry : pretty self explanatory really; if you’ve written a poem that talks about Huntington Metro Area we’d love to feature it on the site
• Restaurant Reviews : A, hopefully, positive review of any restaurant in the area.
• Things to Do/Places to See: I’m sure there are a lot of cool places to visit in the Huntington Area – so if you know of a place that is cool, even if it seems obvious, it would be cool to have a write up of the place so others can discover it.
• Interesting Businesses – If you know of any interesting or cool businesses that are even a little unique to the Huntington Metro Area it would be great to get a small write-up on them so we can spread the word on the opportunties that place provides.
• Events – While we are tied into the Herald Dispatch Event Calendar it would be great to have a write up, in advance, of some interesting events. Likewise it would be cool to have post-event reviews as well so that we can highlight how great the event was.

If you want to contribute in any of these ways, or you can think of another way to contribute, then I’d love to hear from you. If you think you will be contributing more than once I can even give you an account with the site and you can publish content whenever you want.
