Andrés Saborío, a guitarist from Costa Rica, will give a recital on Marshall University’s Huntington campus Sunday, March 7. The recital will take place at 8 p.m. in the Smith Recital Hall.
Regarded as one of the outstanding Costa Rican guitarists of his generation, Saborío began to study guitar in 1996 and immediately decided to dedicate his studies and life’s work entirely to music. That decision took him to the University of Costa Rica and later to Indiana University, where he earned his master’s degree in 2005.

Dr. Tina Cartwright, an assistant professor in the College of Education and Human Services at Marshall University, will present “Launching Tomorrow’s Scientists” and share the outcomes of her work to help low-income minority children develop interest in science and find their way into science careers.
